The new album is reviewed in the June edition of MOJO. This is what it says:

"The former Rachel Unthank & the Winterset fiddler-singer has blossomed in confidence and ideas since last year's attractive but tentative solo debut. She's singing with far more belief, and with a large supporting cast offers a well-crafted, fully rounded album of mostly English trad material, with brother Jim Moray's Wishfulness Waltz the exquisite cherry on top."

A belated happy new year! I'm delighted that my new album, 'The Violet Hour' is now finished and has embarked on its journey to the manufacturers, from whence it should return within the month. The album features great performances by a host of wonderful friends and musicians from Devon and beyond, including the glamorous Jim Causley and Matt Norman, fellow Wistman's Woodfolk, Steve Turner and Andy Clarke, Nick Wyke and Becky Driscoll, Sean O'Shea, Phil Beer, James Dumbelton, Gris Saunderson, Nick Cooke, Jim Moray, Tim Van Eyken and Belinda O'Hooley from the far north. Once more, the album has been produced by Phil Beer and is to be released on his new label, Chudleigh Roots. There will by a launch in London sometime in early March.
